Pie and Bad Luck

Holy Fazoli’s, folks: it’s Friday the Thirteenth.  *gasp*

This looks to be a day of especially bad luck, seeing as it’s the second such ill-fated Friday in as many months.  An interesting coincidence for sure.  But…

I mean really, if the Thirteenth is more likely to fall on a Friday than on any other day of the week, does it really make since to be afraid of it?  As I’ve mentioned before, it doesn’t seem to me there’s any good reason to label this particular day as “unlucky” (whatever that means).  But then, maybe you shouldn’t be taking advice from someone who lives with two black cats and has opened his umbrella indoors on several occasions…

In other holiday-related news, tomorrow is Pi Day (3/14).  And it is in fact a monumental occasion this year, since tomorrow will be 3/14/15, a date that only pops up once per century. We’ll all be dead the next time it happens…

So, I invite you to join me in the celebration of the world’s most famous irrational number!  Especially at 9:26 and 53 seconds, at which point I will… I dunno, do a few area of a circle problems, or something.  (And then bake a pie to eat at 9:26 in the evening.)

Keep an eye out for Tau Day in another three-and-a-half months…

God bless you all!

    1. XD yeah ok I admit it. Seriously though, ’tis a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence!
Tau Is just 2(Pi). So Tau Day is on 6/28. Some weirdos, I mean, *cough*, people of differing opinion think we should use that instead of Pi all the time. I dunno… It might make sense for trigonometric stuff with radians, but Pi is easier for anything involving circles… Chachun à son goût I suppose.
The real question is, pie at 9:26 and 53 seconds or pie at 9:26 and 54 seconds…

What say you, friend?
