About This Blog
This blog is a collection of my thoughts, musings, ideas, stories, as well as articles, pictures, quotes, and music that I think other people will find interesting, insightful, or inspiring.
The name of the blog came about when I was thus dubbed by my aunt one cold December day. (For more details, read this post.) I figured I had to use it for something.
About Me
Well hey there, my name is Luke, and I happen to love a lot of things, among them reading and writing, tea, filmmaking, theology, music in all forms, and arguing for the use of the Oxford comma. I’m fascinated by the people and the world around me and would love to get to know you whoever you may be. Most importantly, I’m blessed beyond measure by divine grace to call myself a child of God, believing as those old Nicea Christians would say, in “one, holy, catholic, an apostolic church”.
Welcome to my blog. You don’t have to like it, but I hope you do. It is what it is. It’s my point of view.
I’d love to see yours too.

That’s my face, incidentally.
The header photo
I took this from the loft of Heinz Memorial Chapel in Pittsburgh, PA, a masterwork of Gothic revival architecture and one of my favorite buildings this side of the country. At the bottom left of the frame you can see some openings into the chamber which houses the antiphonal division of the organ. It’s quite fun to play softly and playfully on these after startling people with the big pipes at the front.
Comment Policy
I love comments from other people. They can spark interesting and meaningful conversations, or just make a relevant point. However, a few guidelines should be observed to avoid your comment being removed from the site:
- No rude, hateful, or discriminatory remarks. Everything goes much better when discussions are constructive and understanding.
- This includes vulgar language. Just try to avoid it. Pretend you’re at your grandmother’s house.
- Please, no spam. Spam is for sandwiches, and if you spam my blog, you are calling it a sandwich, which isn’t a very nice thing to do.
In summary, just use your common sense and you should be fine.

This is written very concisely, Louis. I’ll try not to be envious. You also have a great sense of humor. A wonderful quality, Sir. Thanks again for visiting my blog.

Thank you! It means a lot to hear you say that. Seriously.
Absolutely! Your blog is awesome. Thanks for visiting mine.

I had to laugh about the spam thing. It’s true…no blog deserves to be called a sandwich. Unless, the sandwich is a really, really good one.

Well, so glad I could bring you some laughter! You have a point; there’s nothing like a good sandwich. Still, blogs are cool, whereas sandwiches are just food. There’s my two cents anyway.
Thanks for following! *flies away to check out your blog*

That’s true. Blogs aren’t for nourishment. Which is a good thing, you must admit.

Yeah. *laughs* I’m not sure how you would eat a blog.

Unless you ‘devoured’ it…sorta like you read everything, I suppose.

Haha! You point that out quite expertly. Perhaps… as long as you’re not a ham and your blog isn’t cheezy.

*laughing lots* Okay, that was just excellent.

*bows and grins sheepishly* 🙂 We must develop this Sandwich Theory of Blogging further at some point. Write a treatise on it or something.
Thanks! You know, if blogs were sandwiches, they would fit in anywhere in the world. People are always Hungary. A Turkey sandwich might be just what they need. Unless it got covered in Greece. There’s Norway I would eat that.

*laughing lots* Hey, that was brilliant! Okay, so you’re right. We should write up a paper on it, for sure.

Haha, cool! I dunno, how would we go about it?

Well, let’s see. It would be like a charter of sorts…one of us should write the basic guideline, then we can tweak and tweak.

I see. Should we just brainstorm how blogs and sandwiches are alike and how they’re not alike and stick all the ideas into a document?

Yeah! That sounds perfect. This will be so fun!

Yay! We can carry on the discussion in the comments, or it might be easier to swap emails… what do you think?

It is evident that your hovercraft has very nearly as many eels as does mine.

Well, Mirkin Firkin, thanks for stopping by. I think you’ve won the Most Intriguing Comment of the Month Award. I’m a little bemused by it.
But if I had a hovercraft, I suppose I might have eels. For throwing at people on other hovercraft, of course. I know my imaginary hovercraft has a built in aquarium.
Have a good evening!

Louis,
JZ here, from Colorstorm’s blog. CS, didn’t allow my reply to you.
Colorstorm doesn’t allow free speech. It frightens him. No, it terrifies him.
Although pretending to host a “public blog”, adult conversations are too much for CS to handle.
Its sad. And here it is:

If you want to talk like “adults” who are “comfortable in their beliefs” then pop on over to my blog. You’re welcome there, and I do not censor.

Hey John.
I have to say, it is Colorstorm’s prerogative what comments get displayed on his page. My strategy would just be to ignore people, but different strokes for different folks.
At least you got a hold of me here. I may stop by your place at some point… I’ve got some thoughts marinating into blog posts that I’ve been working on lately, so I’m giving those my attention at the moment. May be a bit.
Peace.

Stumbling upon this blog was like being handed a bouquet of your favorite flowers by a stranger. Seriously, whoever you are, I appreciate you for existing, for writing, and for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Nicky! I’ve not kept up with the blog world super closely as of late but I was glad to learn of yours, and I very much enjoy what I’ve read of your writing! (I know I don’t share my full name here but we’re actually FB friends and share an alma mater fyi.)
